I thought that since I was an attractive, fit, well-educated, financially and emotionally secure guy that I would have no problem finding a woman in her mid 30s to settle down with and start a family. Late last year I read this post by Garance Dore and was deeply moved by it. I think about being single in my 30s a lot these days. It being my grown up life. I imagined having met the guy and gotten married and had a kid or two by this point. In high school and college and out of college I dated plenty. I had an on again and off again boyfriend for the better part of four years starting when I was I never had a hard time meeting people or getting dates.
